Workshop l The Good, the Bad, and the Bilateral: From Workarounds to Shared Custody Standards

In a multi‑custodian world, interoperability still runs on bilateral workarounds, manual exchanges, whitelists, and processes never meant to scale.  This workshop brings that reality into the open: what works today, where it breaks, and why it’s important to bring the industry together and start moving toward shared, auditable standards.
Because bilateral works… until it doesn’t.

As institutional participation in digital assets matures, the focus is shifting from exploration to active execution. This workshop will explore the market developments driving this transition and the practical challenges institutions face when trading at scale.

Topics include market structure and liquidity fragmentation, institutional-grade execution and market access, best execution and transaction cost analysis in the absence of a consolidated tape, and the risk management frameworks required to operate effectively in a global 24/7 market environment. Participants will gain practical insights into how institutions are building resilient trading infrastructure and adapting to the evolving digital asset landscape.

Workshop l How Financial Infrastructure Is Being Rebuilt

Financial infrastructure is entering a fundamental transition phase. What began as experimentation around blockchain and digital assets is increasingly evolving into discussions around market infrastructure, interoperability, governance, identity and programmable financial systems.
This session explores how global institutions, regulators and market participants are moving from isolated pilots toward more interoperable and standardized digital financial infrastructure. It examines where tokenization is creating real operational value, where key challenges still remain across post-trade processes and trust frameworks and why governance and verifiable identity are becoming critical components for scalable digital finance.
Using real-world examples ranging from as on-chain financial attestations to tokenized investment structures, the session highlights how blockchain-enabled infrastructure may reshape transparency, efficiency, and accountability across capital markets.

Workshop Host:

  • Sandro Knöpfel – Global Lead, Market Structure & Strategic Partnerships, Cardano Foundation

LUNCH & NETWORKING

14:00 - 14:30

Workshop | Sound Money on Digital Rails: The Return of Gold as Tokenized RWA

Gold is climbing as the dollar weakens, confidence in fiat erodes and debasement noises are growing. In places like Venezuela, physical gold is a means of payment again, because everything else has broken. Now the oldest monetary asset is being rebuilt on digital rails, and once it settles in seconds rather than days, it can move like money again. That’s why gold sits behind only Treasuries and bonds in the tokenized RWA market. This session works through the macro case for tokenized gold, the design choices that determine whether a product delivers on the promise, and what the same questions look like for other real-world assets moving on-chain.

Workshop Hosts:

  • Richard Briffod – CBO, GTSA – an MKS PAMP Company
